Students from EU and non-EU countries who have completed at least one year of first-cycle studies (Bachelor’s) or are in the process of second-cycle studies (Master’s): computer science / chemical sciences / physical sciences / materials engineering can apply to the Vinci RELOADED School. The School is FREE and each of the 25 participants will receive a short-term scholarship.

Programme
The Vinci RELOAD Summer School programme offers basic and advanced physics, chemistry, computer science, materials engineering and microscopic research on matter courses. Summer Students will attend a series of lectures tailor made for them. Moreover, School gives a unique opportunity to join in the day-to-day work of research teams participating in experiments at the Faculty of Science and Technology University of Silesia. The courses on Polish culture in the School of Polish Language and Culture and a scientific excursion are also part of the program. Students are required to prepare a short report (presentation) on their work, which should be presented during a closing seminar, at the end of their stay.
Basic lectures (15 hours + 15 hours of self-work). Depending on the target group’s profile and research interests, classes will be dedicated to topics relevant to the discipline chosen by the student: computer science, chemistry, physics, materials science and engineering or SPIN-Lab laboratory. A summer school student is required to attend all Basic lectures in his or her primary discipline.
Interdisciplinary lectures (3 hours +3 hours of self-work) will be conducted within a leading discipline. In addition to the lectures within the selected discipline, the programme offers an opportunity to engage in lectures from other fields/disciplines. Participants are strongly encouraged to take advantage of this interdisciplinary component, which provides valuable exposure to different perspectives and approaches. Attendance in interdisciplinary lectures across all four additional disciplines will be recognized with an extra certificate corresponding to 1 ECTS credit.
Online lecture (4 hours +4 hours of self-work) will be delivered by world-renowned expert professors specializing in the proposed topics.
Specialist workshops for research teams (30 hours + 30 hours of self-work + 10 hours preparing a presentation for a closing seminar). Each candidate will declare their readiness to cooperate with a given research team at the recruitment stage by selecting the appropriate topic. These will be stationary classes carried out in modern research laboratories.
Classes popularising Polish culture (5 hours).
SPIN-Lab DAY (lectures 5 hours + workshops 2 hours).
Educational tour (8 hours) attractive scientific excursion promoting Polish science and world class research opportunities available in Poland.
Adaptation seminar (2 hours) presenting the educational and research potential of the Institutes and SPIN-Lab participating in the project.

Scholarship: Each of the 25 participants of the School will receive:
- a scholarship
- funds to cover accommodation costs
- funds for travel expenses to and from Poland depending on the country of origin.
Accommodation support – students can count on preferential accommodation at the University of Silesia's academic campus near the center of Katowice. The offer includes double rooms with private bathrooms, access to a kitchen, and a conference room. Laundry facilities and free internet are available throughout the building. Near the Dormitory, there is an 86-hectare park and recreational and sports complex –the Valley of Three Ponds, including 9 ha of water. The park includes parking, numerous bike paths, beach volleyball courts, and a city bike station (about 1.5 km away).
The Silesian Library is within close proximity to the Housing Estate (650 m). A bus stop is approximately 450 m away, and the train station is approximately 2 km from the Housing Estate.
