
Students from EU and non-EU countries who have completed at least one year of first-cycle studies or are in the process of second-cycle studies (computer science or chemical sciences or physical sciences or materials engineering) can apply to the VINCI RELOADED Interdisciplinary, International, Silesian Summer School 2026.
Important note! We do not recruit Ph.D. students for the project. Each of the participants of the School will receive a short-term scholarship. Students are set to spend 3 weeks at the University of Silesia in Poland.

The Faculty of Science and Technology conducts the School with the support of four following scientific institutes: Institute of Chemistry, Institute of Physics, Institute of Computer Science, Institute of Materials Engineering
SPIN-Lab Centre for Microscopic Research on Matter - an interfaculty science centre of the University of Silesia in Katowice dedicated to advanced microscopic studies, established on 16 October 2017. The Centre was created to combine competences in education, research, development, and commercialization in the fields of nano- and microscopy from departments and institutes of University of Silesia in Katowice involved into microscopy research
Programme
The Vinci RELOADED Summer School Programme offers basic and advanced physics, chemistry, computer science, materials engineering and microscopic research on matter courses. Students of the Summer School will attend a series of lectures tailor made for them. Moreover, School gives a unique opportunity to join in the day-to-day work of research teams participating in experiments at the Faculty of Science and Technology University of Silesia. The courses on the polish culture in the School of Polish Language and Culture and a scientific excursion are also part of the program. Students are required to prepare a short report (presentation) on their work which should be presented during a closing seminar, at the end of their stay.
The project „VINCI RELOADED – Interdyscyplinarna Międzynarodowa Śląska Szkoła Letnia" (VINCI RELOADED – Interdisciplinary International Silesian Summer School) is funded under SPINAKER – Intensive international education programmes by the National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA).
